Todd Rothrock Memorial

Todd R. Rothrock, 48, of Nazareth, died on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born: On Dec. 8, 1959, in Easton, Todd was a son of Margaret "Peggy" (Schmoyer) Rothrock of Tatamy and the late Roland R. Rothrock. Personal: He was the beloved husband of the former Alison Krock. They were married for 24 years on Oct. 15, 2007. Todd was a financial planner, operating Rothrock Financial Services/Ameritas Investment Corp. in Nazareth. He previously worked as a sales representative for Met-Life Insurance and as a marketing director for Harleysville Life Insurance. He was a 1977 graduate of Nazareth High School and a 1981 graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a B.A. in education and history. He was a much loved and respected basketball coach, most recently serving as head coach of the Liberty High School boys basketball team. He ended his seven-year career at Liberty with a District 11 AAAA championship in 2008. He was also named co-coach of the year by The Morning Call. He was named The Express-Times Coach of the Year in 2006. He was an assistant coach at Moravian College, Nazareth High School, Pen Argyl High School and Belvidere High School in New Jersey. He was also a basketball and baseball coach for the Lower Nazareth Township recreation league. Memberships: Todd was a dedicated member of Dryland U.C.C., Newburg, where he was a 5th- and 6th-grade Sunday school teacher and a member of the Financial Committee. He was a social member of the Hecktown Fire Company and also the Woodstone Golf Club. In college he was a member of Phi Lambda Sigma Fraternity. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Alison, and his mother, Peggy, Todd is survived by two sons, Tyler P. and Matthew T., both at home; a sister, Linda Olah and her husband, Dean of Tatamy; nieces, Diana and Stefanie Olah, and Lauren Krock; a nephew, Alec Nemeth; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Shirley Krock; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tad and Lisa Krock, all of Lower Nazareth Township. Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Wesley United Methodist Church, 2540 Center St., Bethlehem. There will be no calling hours on Saturday. Family and friends may call on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, Nazareth. Burial will be private. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Todd's memory to the Todd Rothrock Memorial Scholarship Fund or to Dryland U.C.C. Memorial Fund, c/o Reichel Funeral Home, Nazareth.
