EAST PENN DEBATE CANCELED DUE TO HOLLOWEEN PARADE

The rescheduling of the Halloween Parade in Emmaus to tonight means tonight's debate for East Penn School Board candidates will have to be changed to another date.

The East Penn Chamber of Commerce, which organized the debate, canceled the event for tonight after realizing there would be no place to park because Chestnut and Main streets will be closed as of 6:15 p.m. for the parade and a 5K race.

No new date has been set for the debate, but the chamber said it will re-advertise before the election.

The annual Emmaus Halloween Parade and 5K Race was canceled Saturday due to the weather. The race begins at 7 p.m. followed by the parade at 7:30 p.m., according to the borough's Web site.
