FREEDOM WRESTLING COACH SUSPENED

From the Express Times:

Freedom High School wrestling coach Rich McIntyre was suspended last week for an undisclosed reason, according to Fred Harris, the school's athletic director.

Jeff Longacre, a former coach at Bangor, is serving as interim coach.

"Coach McIntyre, right now, is suspended," Harris said. "That's basically all the information I'm privy to provide. It's a personnel issue and it's pending further review."

Longacre coached the team last week against Bethlehem Catholic and in four dual meets last weekend. The Patriots are 1-4 under Longacre.

McIntyre's resignation for "personal reasons" was on the school board agenda Monday night but McIntyre withdrew the resignation before the meeting started, according to Bethlehem Area School Board President Loretta Leeson.
