Halladay will host a group of at-risk, runaway and homeless children and teens from Youth Emergency Service (YES), who will have the opportunity to watch batting practice on the field and meet Halladay. The children will then be treated to a private suite to enjoy the game and dinner. This is the first of more than 50 visits scheduled through various Phillies player programs. 10th Annual Teacher Appreciation Night. More than 6,000 teachers and their families will be in attendance. The evening is a partnership with the Newspapers in Education department of The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News and honors great educators in the region. Teacher All-Stars will be honored on the field. More than 1,500 teacher nominations were received for this honor, with more than 15,000 teacher nominations received over the 10 years of this program.
