Update: Yes, Channel 69 will have Lehigh-Delaware game

FROM KEITH GROLLER

At Lehigh's weekly luncheon on Tuesday there was no firm answer yet about whether Saturday's Lehigh-Delaware FCS playoff would be televised.

But I just received word from producers at Service Electric that the game will be seen on WFMZ-TV, Channel 69 with Service Electric's production crew handling the broadcast, which will begin at noon.

No word yet who will be calling the action, but my guess is Steve Degler and Mike Yadush will have microphones.

This is great news for Lehigh fans, eager to see the renewal of the longstanding rivalry with Delaware.

Last week's Lehigh-Northern Iowa game was not televised and seen only through streaming video on ncaa.com.

High costs (I heard a figure of $35,000) were cited as the reason the game wasn't televised.

But it was hoped that the proximity to Delaware would allow this week's game to be televised, either on Service Electric TV2 or WFMZ-Channel 69.

TV2 does Lehigh's home games, and Channel 69 does select Lehigh road games, including games at Drake, Holy Cross and Lafayette this season.

TV2 will be doing the Easton-La Salle PIAA Class 4A game in northeast Philly on Saturday.

The game can be heard on radio at 1320, 1230 AM (the local ESPN affiliate).

Fans may be looking for other options than attending, because I was told today that game tickets cost $30 and parking $20 for this game.

More FCS action is available on CW 57 on Saturday. The CW Philly (WPSG-TV) will broadcast ESPN's coverage of the NCAA football championship playoff game between Villanova University and Stephen F. Austin State University live from Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches, Texas. at 3:30 p.m. EST.
