READING PHILLIES-AKRON BASEBALL GAME POSTPONED TONIGHT

(Reading, PA) -- The Reading Phillies and Akron Aeros game scheduled for Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather and has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader beginning at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. The clubs will play two seven-inning contests.

In order to attend tomorrow’s game, you must have a ticket dated Sunday, April 17th. Fans holding tickets from tonight’s postponed game can exchange them for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining regular season game, based on availability.

Tickets are still available for tomorrow’s 1:05 doubleheader and fans could choose to exchange their rainout ticket from tonight at the box office for tomorrow’s game. The only exception to this ticket exchange policy would be for those fans holding a Spring Township night ticket, or other sponsor tickets, that carry a printed rain date on them. Those tickets will be honored on that pre-printed rain date. Specifically, Spring Township tickets have a pre-printed rain date of Friday, April 29th. Spring Township tickets should be used at the gate on April 29th.

Tonight’s giveaway – a Reading Phillies Old School Knit Ski Cap, sponsored by All Star Distributing & Miller Lite, will now be given away to the first 2,000 adults 21 & over on Saturday, April 30th.

Tonight’s White Star Travel Center / Rock Hits Y102 Grand Prize Trip Give-Aways will also be rescheduled for Saturday, April 30th. Fans will win trips to Richmond, Cape May, and Charleston, SC.
Saturday April 30th will also feature fireworks thanks to Carpenter Technology Corp., & Dead Head Night featuring the “Good Lovin’ Jamband” thanks to 830 AM WEEU.

Tonight’s Celebration of Music sponsored by Zeswitz Music / Reading Musical Foundation / 69 News Berks Edition, will now take place on Tuesday, May 31st. All musicians are invited to receive a free ticket and perform on the field in the pre-game. Tonight’s Season Ticket Holder Q & A with R-Phils Players will be re-scheduled for Thursday, May 12th from 4:30-5:30pm.

Also, tonight’s Season Ticket Holder Appreciation party in the Deck Buffet area is also rescheduled for Thursday, May 12th. New vouchers for the May 12th season ticket holder appreciation deck buffet will be re- issued to all season ticket holders.

On Sunday, April 17, the R-Phils will hold their first Redner's R-Phils Kids Club game of the season, and all Redner’s R-Phils Kids Club members receive a free ticket to the game. VIST Financial Plaza gates open at 11:00 a.m. for all Redner’s R-Phils Kids Club members, and there will be a special pre-game autograph session from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m., thanks to Redner’s Warehouse Markets, Kellogg's, Pepperidge Farm, Frito Lay, Reading Eagle, 69 News Berks Edition. The first 2,500 kids will also receive a collectible R-Phils Team Baseball Card Poster, courtesy of Reppert’s Candies. Also, thanks to Reppert's Candies, the first 1,500 kids will receive a tasty chocolate baseball glove.

In addition, all fans who come out to a Sunday game can enjoy some great food for a great low price. Every Sunday all fans can chow down on delicious $1 hot dogs, thanks to Berks Packing and Stroehmann’s, and after each game, fans can Run the Bases, thanks to 69 News Berks Edition. Also, the R-Phils present Flat Screens and Bicycles, courtesy of Red Robin and Maidencreek TV & Appliance. Every Sunday, the R-Phils will give-away two flat screen televisions and three bicycles to lucky fans. Every fan that enters the ballpark on Sundays will receive a free entry form, and during the game Flat Screens and Bicycles will be given away to fans.

Coverage for tomorrow’s game begins with the R-Phils pre-game show at 12:35 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1240 WIOV. R-Phils play-by-play broadcaster Brian Seltzer will have the call for all of Sunday’s action. The game can also be seen on Service Electric TV-2 Sports.
