AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, Bethlehem, needs volunteers to transport cancer patients to and from their treatments. Volunteers are able to use the American Cancer Society vehicle or their own. All shifts on weekdays, mornings and afternoons. Training will be provided. Call Pat Long, 610-921-2329.

CENTER FOR VISION LOSS, Allentown seeks volunteers to assist clients with weekly walks at the Lehigh Valley Mall every Wednesday, 9-10:30 a.m. Training with sighted guide will be provided. We are also looking for a volunteer office assistant to help "as needed" with data entry, answering phones and other basic office duties. Some training will be provided. KREIDERSVILLE COVERED BRIDGE ASSOCIATION, Northampton, seeks volunteers for its annual tree lighting on Dec. 11 to greet participants, hand out cookies and hot chocolate, help Santa, direct cars to the parking area, cleanup and perform other tasks as needed. Volunteer times are 3:30-6 p.m. No requirements except to call in advance and show up by 3:30 p.m. Rain date is Dec. 12. Call Sue Irons, 610-262-9335.

Mergers, Acquisitions and Takeovers MILLER-KEYSTONE BLOOD CENTER, Bethlehem, needs volunteers for its scheduled blood mobiles at churches, schools and businesses in the Lehigh Valley. Positions include donor aides and canteen attendants to assist blood donors during donation. Orientation and job specific training dates are flexible. Call Naomi Pratt, 610-691-5850.


SIXTH STREET SHELTER, Allentown, is looking for volunteers to assist staff with child care while parents are taking classes on the first Thursday of the month, 6:45-8:30 p.m. Minimum age, 16. Call Lauren Schwartz, 610-435-1490.

ST. LUKE'S HOSPITAL, Allentown needs volunteers in its Gift Shop 3-6:30 p.m. Fridays and 1-5:30 p.m. Saturdays to assist customers and straighten and restock merchandise. Also a greeter in the East Lobby to guide patients and visitors to areas of the hospital. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Friday. THE GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH, Orefield needs volunteers to help with animal care and to perform ground maintenance including raking leaves. Volunteers are needed for a petting zoo and donkey cart rides 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5. A clerical assistant is needed for data entry, writing thank-you notes and general office duties.
