Harrisburg Senators honored by Baseball America for franchise excellence

Baseball America announced Tuesday that the Harrisburg Senators have been honored as the 2011 Bob Freitas Award winners for Class AA franchises.

The award recognizes outstanding franchises that have achieved long-term success in minor league baseball.

The 2011 season was Harrisburg’s 25th since returning to the Eastern League in 1987, and the club drew its 6 millionth fan. Harrisburg also won the Bob Freitas award in 1993.
