A Lafayette connection could help Towson against #Lehigh

FROM KEITH GROLLER

In Saturday's NCAA FCS playoff game between Lehigh and Towson, the host Tigers will have someone on their coaching staff who has coached against Lehigh many times before.

Towson's defensive coordinator Matt Hachmann (pictured at right) coached at Lafayette from 2000-2008, serving as Frank Tavani's linebackers coach for eight seasons.

He worked closely with Lafayette defensive coordinator John Loose. In fact he serves as a board member for Loose's "Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp."

Hachmann was a member of the Leopards staff from 2004 to 2006 when the Leopards won three consecutive Patriot League titles and routinely beat Lehigh in the final game of the regular season.

He brings valuable playoff experience to the Towson coaching staff since he was with Lafayette when the Leopards played Appalachian State in 2005 and met UMass in 2006.

In 2007, Lafayette had the top-ranked defense in the nation.

Hachmann helped to produce such Lafayette stars as Andy Romans and Maurice Bennett and nine of his linebackers earned all-Patriot League honors.

Earlier this week I asked Towson's outstanding defensive tackle Marcus Valentine if Hachmann's knowledge of Lehigh would provide an edge for the Tigers defense.

He said: "Coach Hachmann is a big help every week. We call him the defensive guru because he's so smart and so talented with his defensive calls. He is a great coach and he has prepared us well this week."

Hachmann, however, has not matched wits with Lehigh offensive coordinator Dave Cecchini who is in his second year back with the Mountain Hawks.

Still, Hachmann is respected by Lehigh head coach Andy Coen.

"Towson has a very similar philosophy defensively to Lafayette and they do a lot of similar things up front," Coen said. "Matt has put his own stamp on things, but they do a very good job in disguising coverages. They'll line up with a safety two yards off the line of scrimmage and then he'll drop back in a Cover-2 type coverage. That's a big challenge for us and it's good that we had an extra week to prepare to go through a lot of different things."

) However, by the same token, the bigger the scope, the harder
it is to haul it around and set it up. But it is hard to hold it in one hand especially to female users.
The i - Phone's retina display is stunning: its ultra-thin, feather-light design and world class build quality are unequalled, and its excellent camera and software upgrade to i - OS 6 make the i - Phone 5 a top pick for 2012.

5 MP is excellent resolution, but where and how can you
achieve it. If you are searching for a camera that shoots high quality video clip and stills then this a single is for you.

When High-pace mode is engaged, a smaller yellow LED lighting up (you are going to even be alerted
to the display).

Charge your device Connect your Kindle to the power cord provided in the box.

The nook color already had these two features, so it is now much more
competitive with it. However, as of this writing, the Kindle Fire only
costs two hundred bucks.
