Van Halen announces 2012 tour with David Lee Roth

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Go ahead and jump -- again.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Van Halen are hitting the road in 2012 with original front-man David Lee Roth.

The news was posted in a video Monday on the band's website, although no specific tour dates have been revealed. However, the video does say the first batch of tickets will go on sale Jan. 10.

Roth and original Van Halen members Eddie and Alex Van Halen reunited in 2007 for a world tour and again in 2008.

The band is also rumored to release their first studio album with Roth -- their first since 1984 -- sometime in early 2012, according to Rolling Stone. Roth left the group in 1985 to embark on a solo career, though he did appear on stage with the Van Halen brothers and original Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony during the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards. (Eddie Van Halen' son, Wolfgang, took over as bassist in 2007).
