Former Dieruff linebacker Kyle Beller expected to be named new Husky coach

FROM KEITH GROLLER

No Allentown School District official will offer confirmation, but reliable sources have told me that Kyle Beller, an outstanding linebacker at Dieruff in the late 1990s, will be presented to the Allentown School Board tonight for approval as the Huskies new football coach.

Beller is a 1997 Dieruff graduate who went on to play at Delaware Valley College.

He has been a teacher and an assistant football coach at Nazareth.

Beller played for Mike Marcks at Dieruff and with approval would become the school's 12th football coach in its 53-year history.

Previous coaches:

Francis O'Keefe (1959-1960)

Ernie Wescoe (1961-1966)

John "Jeep Bednarik (1967-72)

Bruce Trotter (1973-1979; 1981)

Larry Lewis (1980)

Ted Steiner (1982-1988)

Mike Marcks (1989-1998)

Jeff Hannis (1999)

Keith Brader (2000-2004; 2007-08)

Jake Williams (2005-06)

John McDowell (2009-11)
