Whitehall High School football coach Tony Trisciani resigning to join Villanova University coaching staff

Whitehall High School football coach and physical education teacher Tony Trisciani is resigning from both positions effective about Feb. 1, according to a news release.

Trisciani is departing to become the defensive backs coach of the Villanova University football team. He earned a 36-22 record and one District 11 playoff berth in five seasons with the Zephyrs.


"We extend good luck and congratulations to him (Trisciani) on his new position," said Bob Hartman, director of athletics, in the release. "Villanova University is gaining an outstanding football coach and better person."


Under Trisciani, 15 Whitehall players were named first-team Lehigh Valley Conference all-stars.

Whitehall will begin searching for a new coach immediately, according to the release.
