Parkland coasts to 9-0 victory over Nazareth in District 11 softball quarterfinals

http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/05/parkland_scores_three_first_in.html FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES Sophomore Courtney Miller contributed RBI hits in the first and fourth innings and classmate Jordy Augustus went 2-for-4 with three runs scored to lead Parkland past Nazareth 9-0 today in a District 11-AAAA quarterfinal game at Parkland High School. The game ended because of rain right after Danielle Clune's three-run triple with one out in the bottom of the fifth. The second-seeded Trojans (18-4), who will play Liberty at Patriots Park on Tuesday in the semifinals, got hits from five of their first six batters to take a 3-0 lead Sophomore Morgan Rentzheimer (7-2) allowed four hits, struck out six and walked one to register the victory. Parkland was playing its first game since seeing its 12-game win streak snapped by Bethlehem Catholic in the Lehigh Valley Conference playoff semifinals. "We really have the ability if things come together," Parkland coach Barry Search said. "Like today. We can smile today, but it's right back to work."
