ESPN Signs Six Play-by-Play Announcers to New Deals

http://sportsmediajournal.com/ ESPN today announced that it has executed multi-year extensions for play-by-play announcers Mark Jones, Sean McDonough, Brad Nessler, Dave Pasch, Joe Tessitore and Bob Wischusen. Since 1990 Jones has worked on the NBA, college football, and men’s and women’s basketball. McDonough has been with ESPN for his second stint since 2000, working on college football and basketball, along with Major League Baseball and golf. Nessler joined the WWL in 1992 calling college football and basketball. Pasch primarily works college football and basketball for the network, along with the NBA. He also has worked the WNBA, Arena Football, the Great Outdoor Games and the Little League World Series since coming on board in 2003. Tessitore is known for his calls on Friday Night Fights but has also worked on college football telecasts for ESPN. He will be the new host of the daily College Football Live telecasts. He has been at ESPN since 2002. Wischusen has been on ESPN’s men’s and women’s college basketball and college football telecasts since he joined the network in July 2005. “These top announcers are recognized for their distinguished voices and ability to describe the action from many sports in a way fans appreciate,” said Mark Gross, ESPN senior vice president and executive producer, production in a press release.
