Anthracite football: Marian, Panther Valley, Jim Thorpe looking to bounce back

http://www.mcall.com/sports/football/mc-anthracite-football-preview-tab-20120825,0,5825834.story FROM THE MORNING CALL When Lon Hazlet was a rookie head coach more than a decade ago, his Karns City team took a beating on a particular Friday night. A few of his assistants weren't happy about how the opponent laid it on their team. "I remember [the opposing head coach] pulling me aside and telling me, 'You're a young guy doing a good job,' " Hazlet recalled. "'But tell a couple of guys on your staff that if you don't like the score, do a better job coaching your kids.' "It certainly wasn't a real polite thing to say, but sometimes it is an accurate thing."
