It’s that time of year once again to look back at the stories that made the Big Dozen list. If you’re new here and wonder why it’s called the Big Dozen? It’s a tribute to where I used to work, WPRI-TV on the border of East Providence, RI and Seekonk, MA. My good friend, John […]

We thank them for bringing us many laughs.

TV NEWS DECEMBER 30

http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2014/12/new-years-eve-2014-and-new-years-day.html

Welcome to a special New Year's style edition of the News Blog! As we end 2014 and start 2015, today we will give you a marathon recap on TV tomorrow and Thursday (New Year's Eve and New Year's Day)! Some of the major TV stunts we mentioned already were Antenna TV's New Year's Eve marathon of Burns & Allen and Jack Benny Program beginning at 7pm Wednesday and lasting into New Year's Day morning at 3am. On New Year's Day, they will have their annual The Three Stooges marathon starting at 3am and running to 11am, as the network celebrates its fourth birthday (and enters its fifth season)! But that's not all...they will also bring in once again "The Fresh Start Marathon," which will be pilot episodes of your favorite shows followed by another "first" that happened on each show from 11am ET-5am ET. UP TV will have a launch marathon for Growing Pains on New Year's Day with a marathon from 8am-2pm. Hart to Hart joins the Hallmark Mystery & Movies Network with a New Year's Day marathon from 6am-5am. TV One will have a New Year's Eve marathon of Martin starting at 10am through 1am to ring in 2015 and then on New Year's Day, TV One will hand it over to Girlfriends from 10am-1am. Lifetime will showcase a How I Met Your Mother New Year's Eve marathon from 9am-2pm. We mentioned that WPIX in New York will of course have their annual The Honeymooners marathon starting at 11pm on New Year's Eve through 5pm on New Year's Day (only a break from 5am-9am for news). Also in New York City, WLNY-TV 55/10 will have a marathon of The Odd Couple once again starting at midnight on New Year's Eve night through 6pm on New Year's Day for the third straight year.

http://highschoolsports.lehighvalleylive.com/news/article/-8215867992843485655/bethlehem-holiday-wrestling-classic-a-preview/#incart_river

FROM EXPRESS TIMES

Bethlehem Holiday Wrestling Classic
Where: Liberty High School’s Memorial Gym
What: one of the top three individual tournaments in Pennsylvania
When: Sunday, 9 a.m.: pigtails, preliminaries, first and second round consolations; 6 p.m.: quarterfinals, third and fourth round consolations. Monday, 10:30 a.m.: Semifinals, fifth and sixth round consolations. 3:30 p.m.: championship and consolation finals.
Teams: Big Spring, Central Dauphin, Council Rock South, Delaware Valley (Pa.), Hazleton, Freedom, Lehighton, Liberty, Nazareth, Northampton, Northern Lehigh, North Penn, Northwestern Lehigh, Palmerton, Pen Argyl, Pennridge, Phillipsburg, Pleasant Valley, Pottsville, Quakertown, St. Mark’s (Del.), Saucon Valley,Stroudsburg, Tri-Valley, Warwick, Wyoming Seminary, Wyoming Valley West.
What to watch for: The presence of Wyoming Seminary, ranked No. 4 in the nation as a team by Intermat and boasting five nationally-ranked wrestlers (all national rankings that follow by Intermat) – Jack Mueller (7th at 120), Chris Weiler (8th at 160), Nick Reenan (4th at 170), Christian Dietrich (9th at 182) and Michael Rogers (16th at 285) – makes the team title something of a foregone conclusion, though Phillipsburg, led by Beast of the East champion Brandon Paetzell (No. 8 nationally at 113), could take a run at Seminary the way Nazareth did last season. Other teams aiming for best-of-show-non-Seminary division are Central Dauphin (led by Tyshawn White, No. 2 in Pennsylvania at 120 by Pa. Power Wrestling and Zach Elvin. No. 3 at 138 by PPW); Pennridge (led by Matt Parker, No. 1 at 106 AAA by PPW, and Kyle Gentile, No. 4 at 182); and Nazareth (led by freshman Sammy Sasso, No. 5 at the Beast of the East at 126). Other top wrestlers to watch include freshman Blake Barrick of Big Spring (No. 7 at AAA 182); Freedom’s senior Jake Young (No. 12 at AAA 182); Liberty’s sophomore KJ Fenstermacher (No. 9 AAA at 120); Northampton’s Beast runner-up Danny Moran (No. 2 AAA at 113); Saucon Valley’s Jason Lynch (5th at Beast at 170); Wyoming Valley West’s Cody Cordes (No. 6 at 170 AAA); Stroudsburg’s John Jakobsen (No. 3 AAA at 182); and Tri-Valley’s Anthony Snyder (No. 4 AAA at 152), one of six Tri-Valley wrestlers ranked in Class AA by PPW.
