Ray Barbosa was one of the best players I've covered in over 30 years on the high school
boys basketball beat. His string of games in leading Allen to an
improbable District 11 4A title in 2002 in a year when the Canaries were
once well under .500 and needed to win the EPC tournament just to
qualify for districts was the stuff of legends.
